Prior to moving to New Hampshire, Pat worked in the food service industry in Massachusettes for forty years as a corporate chef and function co-ordinator. In the winter of 2003, with her recently retired huband Joe, she brought a red deer farm in Boscawen. Pat became inspired by nature as she explored the wooded landscape, capturing images with her camera. Her first pictures were of wild mushrooms, wild flowers and small animals. She now shoots reptiles, birds, and all aspects of New Hampshire wildlife. Her photography is ever expanding and improving, capturing subjects ranging from the quirky personalities of her domestic deer to the elegance of dragonflies that hover near her pond. Recently, she purchased a Sony Alpha Digital Camera and macro lens- extender to bring her even closer to the beauty of the forest. Most nature photos available today have been taken in Boscawen. In the future, however, she plans to extend her range to other areas and subjects around the state.
"It's been a real change of life's perspective since moving to our farm in New Hampshire." she says. "There is an awakening and new respect for living things in the day to day contact with farm animals and exposure to the abundance of nature in the forest." "We changed how we see our food, how we use our resources and, mostly, how we view our planet as a whole, while standing on a tiny speck. We have been blessed to have had this experience." "Hopefully, my pictures will share a little of my new found impression of nature with you."
